Specified Critical Illness

Provides additional money to employees if they suffer a covered condition

  • Benefit amounts from $10,000 to $100,000
  • l0% of the benefit amount is paid immediately upon first treatment or diagnosis; balance of benefit is paid upon surviving 14 days
  • No coordination of benefits; payment is in addition to any other insurance
  • Coverage for the following conditions: cancer (except skin cancer), heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, brain tumor, Multiple Sclerosis, organ transplants (as a recipient only), severe burns, blindness, paralysis and a dismemberment
  • Guaranteed renewable for life (unless benefits are paid)
  • Benefits are portable - the insured can keep the coverage even if there is a job change

Cancer

Provides cash benefits to use for treatment, transportation and other related expenses associated with a cancer diagnosis

  • First occurrence benefit upon initial diagnosis of any cancer (except skin cancer)
  • Daily hospitalization benefit; doubles for intensive care
  • Treatment benefits (inpatient or outpatient) for surgery anesthesia, chemotherapy and radiation
  • Preventive treatment benefit for cancer screening and check-ups
  • Miscellaneous benefits, including physician benefit, private duty nurse, prescribed drugs, blood and plasma, and transportation to and from hospital
  • Once the policy has been in force for 20 years, the coverage continues for the rest of the insured’s life with no additional premiums due
  • Available for individuals or families
  • Benefits are portable - the insured can keep the coverage even if there is a job change
